Launched in December 2020, The Joy Club provides live and on-demand content, experiences and a community for like-minded retirees. Hannah was inspired to start The Joy Club following the loss of her beloved Granny Jean, who embraced retirement with a thirst for adventure and passion for new experiences. To honour her memory, Hannah is bringing that same sense of joy, adventure and connection to as many retirees as possible.
Under Hannah’s leadership, The Joy Club has brought joy to thousands of retirees across the UK. The company takes an innovative, co-design approach to building an inclusive platform that resonates with modern retirees. Their work has not gone unnoticed, scooping HealthTech Company of the Year at the Global Business Tech Awards 2023 and Social Impact Heroes at the Hustle Awards 2023. The Joy Club was also named one of Britain’s 50 most impactful companies to work for in 2023 by Impact Fifty, alongside the likes of Patagonia and Headspace.
The future looks bright for The Joy Club, with ambitious plans to become the world’s largest online community for retirees. Hannah has already raised over £3m in investment and built an impressive team and Board to deliver the vision. The company is securing pioneering B2B2C partnerships, working with major retirement communities, and embarking on proof-of-concept projects with the likes of Lloyd’s Banking Group and Standard Life.
