Dr Selvakumar Ramachandran and Vijayalakshmi Subramani are the co-founders of Kerckhoffs Ltd, a virtual reality company with a mission to promote inclusivity. Under Vijayalakshmi’s leadership as CEO, Kerckhoffs has developed two VR platforms, Eyemmersive and TeenyWeenyVR, focused on enhancing experiences for marginalized groups.

Driven by a desire to help her autistic son and husband with physical disabilities, Vijayalakshmi was inspired to leverage technology to bridge societal gaps. She believes that inclusive innovation is crucial and women in tech deserve support. This vision has fueled Kerckhoffs’ landmark achievements, including Vijayalakshmi winning Innovate UK’s Women in Innovation award for TeenyWeenyVR, which provides edutainment for children with special needs.

Over the past year, TeenyWeenyVR reached major milestones, creating international VR content and securing partnerships. Looking ahead, Vijayalakshmi and her team aim to raise £250,000 in funding and impact 100,000 children in five years. Participating in programs like the Great British Innovation Programme will help Kerckhoffs gain global exposure, find collaborators, and tailor products for diverse markets like the US and India.

Vijayalakshmi and Selvakumar’s journey as co-founders of Kerckhoffs Ltd demonstrates the power of technology to transform lives when driven by a vision of inclusivity and social good. As finalists in the 2023 Great British Entrepreneur Awards, known as “The Grammys of Entrepreneurship,” they are being recognized for their pioneering work.
